The unbearably catchy ‘Ellipsis’ floated around YouTube for so long that the phrase “We just used to like / do our own thing” has already burned into our arsenal of dance music references. There were plenty of concerns that the track would never see a release due to sample constraints, but thankfully it will find a home on the new label Hinge Finger, headed by Will Bankhead and Joy O himself. To make this news even better, the release will also include a Head High remix. Head High is another addition to the running list of Shed’s aliases, including EQD, Wax, and the Traveller. Getting a group of rappers together is never an easy task, but when Evidence failed to arrive at the video shoot for Phonte’s “The Life Of Kings” due to missing his flight, director Kenneth Price came up with the clever solution of shaming the truant MC by interrupting the video to announce the problem before having MomTigallo fill in on the lip-synch. Hilarity ensues.
