The fiery redheaded British model, Karen Elson has been inching her way towards a music career for a minute now and now due to her perseverance, encouragement from friends, and a little production help from her hubby, Elson’s debut solo album, The Ghost Who Walks is now available on XL Recordings. Check out her funky jaunt through a graveyard sound by downloading the album’s title single, available after the jump.
The xx closed out their maiden SXSW voyage by performing in the final slot at the XL Recordings showcase at the Central Presbyterian Church. In the air hung an atmosphere of intimacy and reverence. The boisterous and booze-laden concert settings of the festival were left at the door and the band performed a well-sounding set–the acoustics and the bass were very intense, similar to the calculated concentration that Romy Madley and Oliver Sim exude. True to form, they kept it cool and barely hinted at smiling until leaving the stage.
Kicking it up a few freak-a-licious notches is the latest from Peaches’ I Feel Cream. This record has produced a staggering amount of singles, and, while this song is a little subdued by Peaches standards, the video is enthralling as she plays a mad scientist (second one today!) and gets the blonde robotrons worked up in a tizzy.
