Zomby x Panda Bear :: “Thinks Fall Apart” (MP3)

More good news and good tunes from the undead producer. 

 

The shrouded badman that is Zomby is releasing a new album through the storied 4AD label. Dedication will be released in mid-July, the follow-up to his iconic debut on WERKDISCS, Where Were U In ‘92? Along with that, the first single “Natalia’s Song” (which appeared on Burial & Kode9’s farewell mix on the last BBC Radio 1 show from Mary Anne Hobbs), will be released next week on limited 10″.  As if that wasn’t enough, Zomby gives away “Things Fall Apart”, a cut that features Animal Collective’s Panda Bear. Lone Presents… Magic Wire + Exclusive Remix of Solar Bears (MP3)

The Paradise Backyard still in full effect at 130 BPM. 

Nottingham-based producer Lone is a loved commodity at URB HQ, not just because of his ridiculously great tunes but the fact that his sound is surrounded by a utopian mystique that is rare in tunes these days. Now that Matt Cutler has shifted his dreamy beats into a more extravagant house flavour, there’s much to be excited about. Still waiting with anticipation for his upcoming WERKDISCS 12″, Cutler and a friend decided to start a label of their own called Magic Wire Recordings, which will put it out its first release pretty soon with a two brand new tunes from Cutler himself. URB has landed a stream of the flip, “Angel Brain”, as well as got an exclusive remix of another Planet Mu signing that’s sure to attract anyone, Solar Bears. Check out the tunes after the jump.

Actress Readies Upcoming Album on Honest Jon’s

The beginning of a massive 2010 starts here for this producer. 

According to the lovely folk at FACT Magazine, Darren Cunningham’s gender-bending production moniker Actress is ready to reveal the detail of his upcoming sophomore effort, following his fog-laden techno odyssey (and debut album) Hazyville, released on his Werkdiscs label in 2008. With a busy 2009 handling the acts of Zomby, Lone and Lukid on his label, he also remixed Tom Trago to fantastic results and the year of 2010 looks even brighter for Cunningham. Before releasing his second full-length Splazsh, Actress will put out the first single off the record, “Paint, Straw & Bubbles”, which will included a remix from undead phenomenon Zomby and a longer version of album track, “Maze”. Lone – “Once In A While” (MP3)

It's like the wrap-up fo a summertime rave. 

Lone is at it again, as it didn’t take him long to gear up another 12″ for WERKDISCS. “Once In A While” is a dancefloor diddy that captures the imagination just as much as it catches the doldrums. The track provides a classic Lone atmosphere with some funky basslines and some excellent rhythm and synth patterns. This is already getting a good amount of support by Kode9, Actress and Nathan Fake, and it’s easy to understand why. Take a listen after the jump…

Lone: Sending Synthesized Shivers Down Your Spine + EXCLUSIVE Unreleased Track (MP3)

Going between the worlds of Aphex Twin and Wu-Tang, while stopping by for some chocolate cake. 

Matt Cutler is a producer that comes too few and far between. From starting his music career with the vastly underrated project Kids In Tracksuits, Cutler was always on the otherworldly hip-hop tip, finding ways to exploit beats into tasty audible pretzel knots. When he took on the moniker of Lone, he twisted the knots even further and threw lush synth sounds to create audible journeys into an ethereal utopia clouded by the selective samples used in his tracks. However, since he’s always making tons of these fantastic tunes, he rarely has time to do a full-fledged interview. Luckily, we got a hold of Lone at the right time: right after his stellar album Ecstasy & Friends came out, and he gave us details on his musical uprooting, his tune-making process and his favorite artists at the moment.
