AC Superfly have announced the partial line-up for Bonnaroo 2010, and as a blizzard approaches NYC, I’m going through my camping gear. Weezer Frontman has “Punctured Lung” But Feels Better [Update]

After the Weezer tour bus accident on Sunday, Rivers Cuomo is still in the hospital with a punctured lung and cut spleen. The update was posted to the band’s MySpace:

“Rivers’ internal injuries included both a small cut on his spleen and a small puncture in his lung. An internal cut needs to be carefully monitored to see if it is healing up or not. The lung puncture was small so the lung did not fully collapse, and thus no surgery was needed for that, but it also has to be monitored carefully.”

However, things are looking up and he felt “much better day than yesterday.”

What Happened to Weezer in Weekend Bus Accident

Posted to the band’s MySpace is a first-hand account of the accident from this weekend in which Weezer’s tour bus slid across a patch of black ice, crushed a guardrail and landed in a ravine. Almost everyone was hurt–except Rivers’ baby daughter and her nanny. While it is not clear who wrote the piece, it appears to be from a trustworthy source:

… Finally, using the jaws of life to remove a rear window bar, the local EMTs and firefighters got a ladder across the ravine to the rear bus window, where they could get to Rivers, eventually getting him and Sarah out on stretchers and into an ambulance. Meanwhile they dug frantically in the mud at the front of the bus, clearing the front door so everyone else could come out. To access the rest of the bus from Rivers’ lounge, the fused sliding door was destroyed by the firefighters.
