K’naan “Wavin Flag” for World Cup & Coca-Cola (MP3)

With the Olympics in the air, ’tis the season for celebration and triumph, and K’naan’s “Wavin’ Flag (The Celebration Mix)” anthem for the World Cup couldn’t come at a better time.

Fans of K’naan will recognize the track from his album Troubadour, and the remix is the highlight of the campaign with World Cup sponsor Coca-Cola. He is working the single throughout Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa and other countries as part of the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour. By the end of the tour, K’naan and the glorious trophy will have visited a combined 89 cities, 86 countries, every country in Africa and clocked in 134,017 kilometer journey in nine-months.

AC Superfly have announced the partial line-up for Bonnaroo 2010, and as a blizzard approaches NYC, I’m going through my camping gear. Live Review: Wale @ The Roxy in LA (02.02.10)

Washington, D.C. based rapper Wale has been receiving his due as of late after toiling in the underground for the last decade. He finally reached the big time in 2008 with the release of his major label debut Attention Deficit, which is packed with such notable guest stars as Pharrell, Lady Gaga, Melanie Fiona, Jazmine Sullivan, and Marsha Ambrosius. RH went in depth with Wale about his upbringing and cultural influences ranging from Houston, Chicago and his hometown D.C. Then RH threw him some softballs until he owned up to rocking  “MMMbop” (forgive me.) That may cause some fans to raise an eyebrow but at least he doesn’t seem embarrassed about it. Anyway look forward to some more singles from Attention Deficit as Wale plans on promoting his debut album further this year.
