KRS revives Stop the Violence Movement

Twenty years back KRS One and BDP brought together the top rap talents to record the landmark “Self Destruction” for his Stop the Violence Movement. Well, word’s out today that he’s back at it spending the last weekend recording new Stop the Violence Movement material with an updated cast that includes 50, Busta, Snoop, Lil Wayne, StV vet MC Lyte and a host of others.

The music’s scheduled for promo release next week, but we’ll have the word if this hits the Internets earlier than that.

Look Daggers Shows Right Around the Corner

Look Daggers have several upcoming shows for the month of November starting tomorrow, 11/15. 2Mex of the Visionaries and Ikey Owens and The Mars Volta have collaborated to mastermind what is collectively known as Look Daggers. One of the knocks against underground hip-hop over he past 18 months has been its lack of genuineness and charisma, and while the crack-rap backlash has already begun, this isn't that. This is just a good, genuine record. Forever on the grind, Los Angeles's Visionaries know how to pimp their music'without ever smacking the bitch when she misbehaves. We Are the Ones, however, is on its best behavior. Not without crew-biguppin' braggadocio, the Visionaries succeed, for the most part, without the whiny protest-against-popularity that too ...
