To cap off a whirlwind week of news surrounding the exploits of the US Red Bull Thre3style Champion, Big Once, we bring to you our updated article and video interview by the folks behind our web series, Social Science.

SXSW Red Bull Thre3style showcase to feature US Champ Big Once and World Champ DJ Hedspin (Updated) (Video)

Leading out of the preliminary qualifiers being held this month in search of the next Red Bull Thre3style World Champion, the event finds itself setting up shop at SXSW this year featuring the US Champ, Big Once, and the reigning champ, the Vancouver Kid, DJ Hedspin.

With the first two featured DJ’s in showcase form, all we can say is expect the unexpected at this event.  Last year’s event featured surprise performances by DJ Z-Trip and LL Cool J, and it only goes to say that the event should be bigger and badder this March.

It goes without saying that the Midwest has long held a distinction of birthing artists and musical movements that have left their own impactful mark upon the culture.  Chicago in particular has left its mark musically in the recent past with such acts as Kanye West, Common (Sense), Lupe Fiasco, and OK GO, while serving as the birthplace for House Music, as well as its own Blues Movement.

Que Billah must be for sure Chicago’s most slept on MC that I know of. He rocked Congress Theatre two years in a row with WU Tang. He drops dope ass videos. He moved 30,000 mixtapes in two years. He gets head in the whip while the chick is driving. And he is talented as fuck. SO if that doens’t mean anything (because it actually doesn’t anymore in many occasions, but here it does) the least we can do for him is post his dope ass videos and promote his show tomorrow with tons of dope guests including Illinois songstress Bridget Lyons, Black Lung and Fresco out of Rockford, Ill-Legit, ION from Iowa City,Timmy Grins (NJ) and Kosha Dillz(LA) and DJ Image (PA).

New Justice Song + Album Details (MP3)

A new song by some of our favorite frenchies got an airing this weekend in Los Angeles. Busy P dropped a new tune by Justice during his set at HARD Summer. The tune seems to veer towards the more poppy side of the duo—probably best exhibited by their now legendary Fabric Rejected Mix which debuted on URB way back in 2008.

Ed Banger Records also announced more details today about Justice’s second album, titled Audio, Video, Disco, which is due out October 25th. You can hear the nameless new tune, and try to match it with the album tracklist after the jump.
