Yes, that’s a young Brooke Shields introducing Rodney’s show. Weird. But the ensuing interview with one time LA punkers Redd Kross is pretty interesting. It details the transition from teen punkers to faux-psych rock band. Good stuff…if not a bit dopey sounding…

French brand, Kitsuné knows a good thing when they see it. Between their amazing fashion line and record label, it maintains the credibility that the French are known for when it comes to trends. Their label has put out records for amazing artists like Wolfmother, Yelle, Boyz Noize and Digitalism.
With their latest venture, Kitsuné Maison 9 – The Petit Bateau edition or The Cotton Issue, Kitsuné has teamed up with bands like Washed Out, Crookers feat. Yelle, Holy Ghost!, Penguin Prison and more for their ninth studio compilation.
Electronic duo, Hurts who is also featured in the compilation, rounds out the Kitsuné aesthetic with their light, break beat rhythms and Theo Hutchcraft’s pleading vocals. Their latest video, “Wonderful Life,” will be featured on the upcoming compilation, which is set for an April release date.

Brian Burton has come a long way since I first heard of him six years ago with The Grey Album that initiated my enthusiasm for the producer. His mash-up of The Beatles’ LP The Beatles (or commonly known as The White Album) and Jay-Z’s The Black Album was, at the time, considered the ultimate mash-up of all mash-ups, which meant it was completely illegal.
