The duo of Amon Tobin and Doubleclick return with a super heavy, grimy collage of club-bangers and drum 'n' bass assaults. The self-titled album encompasses all facets of their sound. As a whole, this album is an aural beatdown. As Doubleclick brings the hip-hop MC styles, DJ-producer Tobin develops a chaotic blend of anything but Earthly sounds. With exotic samples, rumbling bass rolls and otherworldly glitches, Tobin must be robotic. That a human can even render such mechanical beats seems implausible.
