Juan Atkins Returns To Brooklyn, Cameo Gallery – TONIGHT (MP3)

There’s really not much to say except the Godfather of Techno is back in Brooklyn for another special appearance, of course leading up to his appearance during the extended weekend of Detroit’s Movement festival. The legend that is Juan Atkins is back at Cameo Gallery, with support from TURRBOTAX resident and fellow Michigan native Contakt on the bill. Brooklyn is getting some serious midwest vibes tonight, and we at URB couldn’t be happier. Cameo is actually doing a ticket giveaway for this event, and it only takes a click or two to get entered into the drawing. Otherwise, check out some classic Juan Atkins vibes down below, as well as the flyer post-jump.

Throwing Snow Takes Over THREE-FOR-ALL In Brooklyn – TONIGHT

Earlier in the year, a small party consisting of three minds from different beats of the NYC underground was born; THREE-FOR-ALL is an amalgamation of the finest NYC scene-specific DJs coming together to bring the ruckus, usually for free and for FUN. Initially launched in January with a special Berlin-specific set from the legendary Machinedrum, the party took a hiatus…until now. It looks like THREE-FOR-ALL is back, with a massive lineup to boot. Filled with local talent from the likes of Hippos in Tanks producer maven Physical Therapy and TURRBOTAX’s DJ heroine Space Jam will open up the night for the likes of Houndstooth’s man-of-action, Throwing Snow, who is fresh off taking in the lessons learned during the first term of Red Bull Music Academy here in New York City. He’ll bring his signature stylings to the decks as the residents will appear with vibes surrounding him throughout the night. It’s also FREE (with RSVP)! Check out some preview vibes down below, along with the RSVP link.

Contakt & Mayster Present An Exclusive Mix via Dutty Artz (MP3)

Some dancefloor madness from two burgeoning producers on a wicked label.

It’s been a wild ride for TURRBOTAX residents Contakt and Mayster. While both producers have been part of running one of the most-lauded and eccentric monthly events in New York, they’ve also been hard at work making some serious bass-y business. Earlier in 2011, we were treated to Contakt’s debut release, Not Forgotten on the distinguished Local Action label. This time around on the all-encompassing Dutty Artz label, they bring us their newest output, Korak, which is a progressive stance on the sounds both Contakt and Mayster have been experiencing sonically on the floor as well as their own environments. Strong from start to finish, the EP is only a teaser of what’s to come from each producer. To celebrate its release –along with giving them an excuse to jam out some exclusive cuts– they’ve given URB a mix exclusive,  thanks in big part to the lovely people at Dutty Artz. Peep the mix and tracklist down below.
