I’ve been listening to a lot of foreign dance radio lately because my friend Mariam-who’s from Egypt-is coming home soon and we always talk about music we like and I needed to catch up on my foreign dance music. Did you know Donna Summer has this really great song out over there? So when Washington DC’s Will Eastman sent me his Dmerit remixes I felt like I was listening to Ibiza morning radio all over again! So I think I finally have something to contribute to her snobbish dance music taste. You can catch the Dmerit Remixes on Output Noise Records out Feb. 8, 2011. Will is also releasing his highly anticipated, “No Sleep” on February 8th (Plant Music) with remixes by Treasure Fingers, Bird Peterson and Lazaro Casanova.

Fool’s Gold Announces ‘Vol. 1′ CD Compilation

It’s hard to belive that Fool’s Gold, the NYC label run by DJ pals A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs, is only three years old. So while it might be premature to refer to the imprint as “seminal” it’s hard to underestimate it’s impact on music over these scant past 36 months.

To celebrate, Fool’s Gold is releasing their first ever CD compilation on October 25th via the highly exclusive Opening Ceremony boutiques in New York, LA and Tokyo. It will also be out on all the usual digital retailers.
