First off, a big thumbs up to everybody for keeping the Empire Polo Field clean. For those not at Coachella 2006, the Empire Polo Field was literally a obstacle course of empty bottles and half-filled cups filled with lemonade and some sort of human regurgitation. This year, people were actually cleaning up after themselves and collecting other people’s empty bottles so they can trade it for one fresh bottle of water. It’s true what they say, “one man’s garbage is another man’s treasure.”

A very, very, big thumbs down to Coachella for not letting independent vendors in the festival. Don’t get me wrong, I love the fact that the absence of these merchants led to me having a easier time parking my car but what can we do when we’re waiting …

Kanye, Beasties join fight to save planet

Two of the seven line ups for Live Earth Al Gore's multi-continental attempt to harness the power of music to fight global warming are out today. The big event will take place Jul 7 at sites around the globe starting in Australia and rolling around the planet until it concludes in New Jersey.

Pharrell, Corinne Bailey Rae, Bloc Party, Bon Jovi and others had been previously announced as performers, and today with the line-ups for the shows at London's Wembley Stadium and Jersey's Giants Stadium, The Beastie Boys, Kanye West, Ludacris, Madonna, and Smashing Pumpkins.

Tickets are on sale next week for these shows, with line-up yet to be announced for Sydney's Aussie Stadium, Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana Beach, Johannesburg's Cradle of Human Kind, Tokyo's Tokyo Stadium and a location in Shanghai, TBD. There was also …

We Want a Giant Squid

MSNBC has footage of a Giant Squid caught off the coast of Tokyo. We want one. As a pet. Please.

According to URB.com webmaster and Giant Squid guru Ben Peters, there are obviously 100-foot-plus creatures that live miles below the ocean's surphace. They have been elusive for years and the majority of proof of their existence are the tentacle remains found in the stomachs of sperm whales. Sperm whales know where they are. And when a few years ago, Japanese scientists attached cameras to the heads of sperm whales, no evidence was returned of Giant Squids in their natural habitat. Sperm whales won't be snitchin'.
