pureROKER: Election ‘A to Z’ (D is for Diebold)

I’m going to do a post every day between now and the election and tie it to a letter of the alphabet.

D is for Diebold
The name Diebold hasn’t come up as much during this campaign, but it refers to the troublesome brand of electronic voting machines that caused a ton of controversy in recent years. A 2006 Princeton University test uncovered just how easily the Diebold software could be hacked with a few simple steps. Diebold has always denied the flaws, and even went so far as to change their name to Premier Election Solutions to shake their soiled brand (Search for Diebold, and it’s …

GZA Irving Plaza Show Review

If you’ve never seen GZA live, it’s something you have to do at least once. His performance operates a lot like a Circus, with the same basic structure in every city, but with different players at each location. The set opens with the quotes from Shogun Assassin, much like ever other GZA show that has been dedicated to the full performance of the album Liquid Swords. GZA then knocked out “Labels,” “Investigative Reports,”

It was supposed to be a beautiful summer for Boy George. With his first U.S. shows in over a decade, including a special show for New York’s Department of Sanitation’s Family Day in Aug, the man was flying high…on emotion and anticipation. But alas, the elusive “man” has put an end to all that for now, denying George Alan O’Dowd permission to see the amber waves of grain and purple mountain majesties this summer. The singer released the following statement:

“At the moment, Boy George cannot come to the United States of America because he has been refused permission to enter by the USA Administration. This is not in respect of anything he has done in the past but because he is facing a trial in Nov in London for …

Evergreen State College Riot

Tags: , ,

After catching wind of a fight that had gone on during a Dead Prez concert at Evergreen State College, an officer arrested a student for investigation of misdemeanor assault. With the car surrounded and damn near blocked off, anywhere from 200-500 (depending on the source) students demanded that he be let go. Once the man was released, a deputy’s car was flipped over and vandalized by the rowdy group. According to www.komotv.com, the female officer who had arrested/let go of the suspect was immediately sprayed in the face with pepper spray after the student’s release. For more details, you can also go here. Or..any other place on the web for that matter. It’s supposedly already up on Wikipedia too. Here’s the video of what happens when a bunch of white …
