Earlier in the year, a small party consisting of three minds from different beats of the NYC underground was born; THREE-FOR-ALL is an amalgamation of the finest NYC scene-specific DJs coming together to bring the ruckus, usually for free and for FUN. Initially launched in January with a special Berlin-specific set from the legendary Machinedrum, the party took a hiatus…until now. It looks like THREE-FOR-ALL is back, with a massive lineup to boot. Filled with local talent from the likes of Hippos in Tanks producer maven Physical Therapy and TURRBOTAX’s DJ heroine Space Jam will open up the night for the likes of Houndstooth’s man-of-action, Throwing Snow, who is fresh off taking in the lessons learned during the first term of Red Bull Music Academy here in New York City. He’ll bring his signature stylings to the decks as the residents will appear with vibes surrounding him throughout the night. It’s also FREE (with RSVP)! Check out some preview vibes down below, along with the RSVP link.
Yet again, Unsound festival continues to impress, this time with a newly unveiled playlist hosted on HypeMachine which lets you play music from almost every artist scheduled to appear at the festival this year. The player, which you can see above or check out on the HypeMachine site, has 35 tracks (with more coming soon) from artists like Julia Holter, Hype Williams, Ital, Monolake, 2562, Sepalcure, Teeth, Throwing Snow, Nguzunguzu, Distal, and more. The festival kicks off on April the 18th and goes until the 22nd. For more details, click here. To see a poster for the festival, follow the jump.
Each year the Unsound festival brings new, boundary-pushing music to New York, and this year’s lineup promises even more of the same. The Bass Mutations party presented by Percussion Lab & Dub War, happening April 21st in Brooklyn, boasts a jealousy-inciting lineup for anyone who’s unlucky enough to have to miss out. New York’s own Sepalcure will be playing a live A/V set, and both 2562 and Teeth will be making their live US debuts. Atlanta’s Distal, whose album is imminently dropping on Tectonic, will be DJing, as will UK-based Throwing Snow, and the talented en-vogue duo Nguzunguzu. Advance tickets are already available through Resident Advisor, and we suggest getting them very soon. Follow the jump for a full show poster and location details.
