Vote Yes On Prop 19 :: Twelve Songs About Weed

Tomorrow, California residents will take to the polls and push the lever on a historic ballot initative, Prop 19, that could legalise the sale, possesion and taxation of marijuana for personal use for anyone over the age of 21. And while Prop 19 is currently behind in the polls thanks to a well-funded push by corporate interests (booze, phamacutical) who will win if the measure loses, we at URB are wholey behind the sensible legalization of marijuana. So we’ve assembled a list of some of our favorite songs that pay tribute to Mary Jane. Please enjoy, and pass it around to your friends. I guess money is money, dough.

That self-indulgence aside, I must pass along another couple of joints to check for, the first accompanied by another anecdote that all four of my readers have come to expect and revile. I don’t have satellite radio in the car but my fancy friends do; I consider it a treat …

Delicious Vinyl DJ for iPhone (MP3)

Legendary Los Angeles-based hip-hop label Delicious Vinyl has just yielded their first iPhone app with Delicious Vinyl DJ. This dope application allows you to scratch and mix some of the label’s freshest classics including Pharcyde’s “Passin’ Me By” and Tone Loc and Peaches’ rendition of “Wild Thing.” However, no “Sittin’ on Chrome”; what’s up with that?

Nonetheless, run to the fridge to grab a Heineken and pretend it was complimentary, provided by the club for your prowess on the ones and twos, then download Delicious Vinyl DJ and earn that beer.
