Exciting news on the production front: maverick video director Mark Romanek (nine inch nails, Madonna, Fiona Apple) has been hired to take on The Wolf Man at Universal. Se7en screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker wrote the script (my take on it after the jump) and Benicio del Toro stars.

Forgive a personal side note here: Both Romanek and Walker are two of the genuinely good people in Hollywood. Not only do they each have individually creative voices – Romanek dark and tragically beautiful, Walker dark and, well, hopeless – but I can speak from experience that they are down to earth talents who genuinely love film.
