Apparently, Four Tet spent the holidays rummaging through his old stuff. And he came out with this collection of early recordings from 1997-2001. So while not a “new” album, these vintage tunes give a great look at where Kieran Hebden started, mixing delicate beats with folktronic melodies and some abstract freak outs. 0181 is presumably named after the now-retired London area code where we assume Hebden made these recordings. You can download the whole album as a single file (with no track names) now. And then scope up the physicla release (TEXT021) on vinyl later this year.
