Last night, Jean Grae came up to Toca Tuesdays on Shade 45/XM 66 and played an exclusive from her upcoming album Cake Or Death. The single is called Rock In The Pocket and features Styles P and Talib Kweli. Make sure to listen to the radio rip after the jump.
Much like how Just Blaze premiered Jay Electronica’s record on Toca Tuesdays, Talib Kweli came up to visit Tony Touch last Tuesday on Shade 45. After the jump are Kweli’s freestyle on the show and interview clip where he explains how the track, Just Begun featuring Jay Electronica, J. Cole and Mos Def came about.
Now this is how you make a tightly budgeted video. “Supermagic” was a return to form for Mighty Mos but the video left much to be desired. History’s video treatment tells a subtle story of Mos’s rise to fame from his BK neighborhood. Kweli tags along for the ride and his appearance will likely make heads yearn for a new Black Star album. All in all it’s got some nice direction and the images fit the song’s climate pretty well. Did I mention the song is great too? The video’s a good way to spend 2 minutes and change so give it a click.
This monster of a track was first aired on Tony Touch’s Toca Tuesdays earlier in the week. Everyone goes in, but none of them shine quite like Jay Elect. I have yet to hear him deliver a verse and not leave me stunned in awe. Instant classic. You can thank Shake for the CDQ.
