Phoenix :: “Fences” (Union Remix) (MP3)

It wasn’t that long ago that every day brought a new remix of Phoenix from their break-through 2009 album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. The band even put out an offical CD of remixes from the album.

But while we wait for the French stars to come with some new music, here comes a dreamy new remix by Paris duo Union, who are preparing to release their debut album on Fat Beats, featuring rappers Elzhi, MF DOOM, Talib Kweli, and Guilty Simpson. There’s nothing really hip-hop on this remix (except the tempo), but it’s an original reimaginging of a group we thought had been twisted and turned every-which-way already.

DJ House Shoes Presents Rapping With Paul White Mixtape (MP3)

One of the UK’s most promising producers, Paul White, is preparing to release his album “Rapping With Paul White” on August 23rd via One-Handed Music. The album features songs with Danny Brown, Guilty Simpson, Homeboy Sandman, MarvWon and others.

In support of his upcoming album, One-Handed Music tapped DJ House Shoes to compile a mix of various songs from the album, as well as exclusive non-album tracks and remixes from Paul’s catalogue. The mixtape features all Paul White production and some of the remixes he made for this mix includes songs with A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Talib Kweli, MED, Prince Po, Danny Brown, and others. The Danny Brown song “One of Life’s Pleasures” is one of my favorite songs from the “Rapping With Paul White” album, …

Mr. J. Medeiros – Swallow feat. Logan (MP3)

Mr. J. Medeiros’s upcoming album “Saudade” drops June 14th, 2011!

Some may remember Mr. J. Medeiros from the hip hop group, The Procussions, which had it’s stint on Rawkus Records, working with folks like Talib Kweli for their single “Miss January.”  On the solo tip, Mr. J. Medeiros has been keeping busy with his solo work and “Saudade” is his upcoming album that has a diverse array of sounds, proving to be his strongest, most well produced album to date.  The album title “Saudade” is a Portuguese word in reference to Mr. J’s Portuguese decent and loosely translates as the description of a deep emotional state of nostalgic longing for someone or something.
