Who?? Mike Jones!!

Fans anxiously awaiting for Mike Jones' sophomore release, “The American Dream,” May have to wait a bit longer (it might help to over-enunciate his name three times while facing a mirror). The album, which was scheduled to drop later this month is now scheduled for Jul 10, making the seventh month of the year a busy one for rap with releases from Common, Talib Kweli and many more. Guest appearances on “American Dream” include T.I., Pimp C, Latoya Luckett and Lil' Mo. Fans who've repeatedly tried to get ahold the rapper by phone, can now “Ask Mike Jones” by email at AskMikeJones@gmail.com. No word yet if Jones has set up a new phone number that actually works, or if he ever paid that bill from his last album.

Artists speak in commemoration of Pimp C

On first single from UGK’s first album to debut at #1 on the Billboard Chart, Pimp C drops a bomb on the matrimonially blissful world painted in the first two minutes of the song by Andre 3000 when he raps, “My bitch a choosey lover/Never fuck without a rubber”…and it’s kind of apt for the Pimp’s whole career. The only context Pimp C ever needed was his own.

Born Chad Butler in Port Author, Texas, Pimp C was found dead in a Hollywood hotel this morning, December 4, according to TMZ, just three weeks shy of his 34th birthday. Hs production and brazen baritone set a gang of standards in hip-hop during UGK’s 15+ years of recording, especially for the South’s ascension up the charts (even if UGK themselves rarely saw it).

1.DEREK JETER award aka whether you're a yankees or red sox fan/ whether you're a hip hop backpacker or a silk shirt wearing dutschbag, you respected this artist(s) in 06.

GNARLS BARKLEY (winners)
– what can i say? they graced our dec cover as URB's artist of the year. you can argue that it's a homer pick but no artist(s) got as many rave reviews while going platinum in 06.

T.I. (”urban” category) – with a multi-plat album (king) and arguably the biggest club record of the year (what …
