Aesop Rock’s Side Project Set To Drop On Rhymesayers (Video)

While the trunk-rattling boom bap that was Aesop Rock’s production on Felt 3 temporarily satiated those craving some new material from the Def Jux veteran, fans are more than a little hungry to hear him back on the mic. The debut record from Aesop’s latest project Hail Mary Mallon, a collaboration with fellow abstract lyricist Rob Sonic and DJ Big Wiz, is set to drop this summer on Rhymesayers Entertainment. For a taste of what to expect from these gentlemen on the full-length, give a listen to “D Up” (their contribution to Definitive Jux Presents 4) or the instant banger “Smock” from their performance at last month’s SXSW.

The last of the SXSW articles : 26 bands + South by Superlatives (MP3)

No pictures, no nothing. Just words and music links. This article wants you to know what we think and the words are written below for you to find out more. Everyone is created equal but if you see the pics you might not click the link and get music from the artist. Take your time here and share this with friends. Some shows were packed and some shows were empty but someone has to watch. Not everyone was official but everyone was official.

18 New Acts To Catch At SXSW

It’s that time of year again, when tens of thousands of music industry miscreatens will decend on Austin, TX to burn through what’s left of expense accounts while quaffing drinks from sponsored open bars and texting manically about what legendary act they’re going to wait in line for an hour to catch when they’re supposed to be searching for new music.

You can take our advice and find out where these artist are performing here. Oh, and if you find out what’s up with the secret Danger Mouse/Iggy Pop/David Byrne afterhours party is, please shoot us a text. Thanks.

Charles Bradley, “The World (Is Going Up In Flames)” (MP3)

Charles Bradley is one of those voices that’s tough to even come close to because everytime he sings you feel like his tongue is coiling onto your wrist and winding you on the voyage that was his life. Charles was working a series of odd end jobs before someway, somehow at his golden youth was located and is now under the wings of the Daptone family. Charles Bradley’s cool, not retro and just right for the times. You can catch his spectacular debut album No Time For Dreaming out now and at SXSW.
