Beautiful day in NY. Woke up around 12 and headed straight to a friend’s rooftop party for some classic BBQ and burgers. To all the vegans, its cool – we had veggie burgers too. The party started off quiet with light conversations and meeting new friends, but after sunset turntables had been setup and the party became official. House and electronic music quickly replaced the squeeks, horns, and sirens of NYC traffic from below. Perfect way to spend a summer day, and some “light” drinking during the day doesn’t hurt anyone)

Zoo York State of Mind Film Premiere

The Zoo York State of Mind film premiere at Sunshine Theater, on Houston Street in Manhattan, was a sausage fest, packed with a 98% male to 2% female ratio of young hipsters and their skateboards. I arrived for the 8pm show without a ticket, wearing very dark glasses so no one could see how painful it was for me to be there without expecting to see Harold Hunter (RIP). I asked Adam G from Zoo York if he had an extra ticket and he said, “No,” and then pulled one out of his pocket to give to an adorable kid with a board and a reddish Jewfro. Annoyed, I sniped, “I guess I should’ve brought my skateboard if wanted a ticket,” and instantaneously felt like a deuche bag for hating on a pre-teen. Of course …
