Suckers EP
As I’m sure, you all have heard that over the weekend, beloved rapper, Lupe Fiasco was pretty damn heated. According to his blog, the powers that be decided to push his heavily aniticpated, 3-disk album back indefinitely. Being the industry insider that I am, I found this to be pretty weird. For the fact that Atlantic is pretty much a graveyard, along with Def Jam, they should have probably been happy to release this triology-set closing to Lupe’s career. In all actuality, they should have actually been trying to push it up. So as the bright and intelligent reader that you are, you’re probably wondering what the f*ck is going on up there.
The answer to this question is GREED. Labels have always been the downfall of …
A group of 6 guys lined up to toss a volleyball, soccer throw-in style, into the sunroof of a car about 30 feet away. Each one failed. I said to myself, self, if all you have to do to win that car is throw a ball in the sunroof, you can do it. And I did it, no spin on the ball, dropped right in and bounced off the center console back out. I won a towel.
It got cold by the time we left 8 and 1/2 hours later so I was grateful to have it afterall.

Day two of Movement, Detroit’s Electronic Music Festival begins somewhat slowly and tenuously as the over partied crowds gradually come back into form and wander out to Hart Plaza, but by the end of the day, the place was packed and everyone seemed revived for the next party.
Word was a great live set from Hearthrob was missed, but the day ended up being about musical variety as The Cool Kids, Richie Hawtin, Kill Memory Crash and James Ruskin all delivered as promised in sets that stood out from among the crowded musical options for the day.
It was already almost evening as Paco Osuna was taking charge in the Beatport tent. A late replacement for Marco Corola, Osuna showed that he deserved his festival set in his own right. …
Start to expect more than just “Assy Mcgee” from Adult Swim because they just joined forces with record label Ghostly International to create a music compilation called Ghostly Swim. The 19 free downloads are on the down-tempo trip-hop tip, two of which are featured in an exclusive BoyCatBird video called “City Suckers.” The video features Boy, Cat, and Bird (what’s in a name?) painting a dull gray New York City with color. The concept of bringing color to a black and white world has been done before (Pleasantville) but it’s fresh when the color-splashing is done by a team comprised of a homo sapien, a furry friend, and their feathery, proactive leader. So get your ghost on with this “avant-pop” style collection and enjoy the non-raunchy (don’t worry, “Assy Mcgee” will still be …
