When I got the dates for Bonnaroo 2010 I didn’t think I’d be writing an obituary — much less two, with one obituary about an artist who didn’t play in the set I filmed. But before I look forward, I have to look back. Here are two amazing clips — a tribute to Roc Raida, and !!! delivering a fully classic set at Bonnaroo 2008.
Latin Bitman was a kid growing up in Chile and enjoyed riding the waves. He never planned for a career in music, but his innate curiosity for picking up instruments and technology led him to Santiago. One thing led to another and before he knew it, he was in love with scratching. After working with Christian Powditch under the moniker “Bitman and Roban,” Bitman released his first solo record in 2007 on Nacional Records. This fall he returned with a new album, Colour, and we talked about it and what attracted him to music.
A couple weeks ago I had the great pleasure of attending Nike Sportswear Presents Fight Night @ The Montalban, a private movie theater showing of Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquaio’s historic title winning effort against Puerto Rico’s Miguel Cotto. It was Manny’s record 7th World Championship in as many weight divisions.
A largely Pro-Pacquaio audience rigorously celebrated their fighter’s thorough beating of what was, in all honesty, world class opposition, in the champion Miguel Cotto.
On top of an exciting and destructive fight, the party was also a showcase celebration for Nike Sportswear’s new line of hoodies, the AW77 Pound For Pound Hoodie, which is worn and endorsed by such elite athletes as Pacquaio, Lebron James, and Kobe Bryant.

“This looks like cover art more suitable for a Vampire Weekend release than a Spoon full-length. Britt Daniel doesn’t pout nor does he slouch in fancy chairs. But maybe he really digs on Harold and Maude. Who knows. Not that important.”
