URB Premier :: Swedish House Mafia “Miami 2 Ibiza” (Static Revenger Remix) (MP3)

Whoever said “go big or go home” probably had this track playing in the background when they coined the phrase. Swedish House Mafia’s anthem “Miami 2 Ibiza” was already what you’d call a “big choon” (if it was 1998). But this remix by Detroit-via-LA producer Static Revenger revs the engine up as high as it will go. Endless thunder drums and synth stabs. We like it, although after listening we kinda felt like we needed an sports drink.

If you're expecting to hear classic Static Revenger dance/house/techno laced with deep bass, this is definitely not that. Dennis White, a.k.a. Static Revenger, goes in a completely different direction with this full-length, hence the Love Song Surprise title, because he gives us a collection of mellow love ballads instead of everything else he's put out before. Static Revenger is on Some $#!t

So L.A. based producer/film director Static Revenger (AKA Dennis White) has been on the scene for a minute, producing club tracks that you see on all those Ultra and Ministry of Sound compilations. But we didn’t know dude is also an accomplished film director as well. We’re not really sure which one of these videos is cooler so it’s a definitive tie between his video for ‘Satellite,’ a homage to classic sci-fi films such as Tron, 2001 and Barbarella and Human Castle Building, a Spanish event he recently documented that involves, well, seriously, just watch this $#!t and tell me we don’t have a new fad coming to the States. Rich Remixers Just Don’t Understand

DJ-remixer Static Revenger apparently has tripped over a little holiday and expensive sunglasses guilt and luckily, he saw a sappy Will Smith flick to set him straight. Jokes aside, it's a great cause and if you can afford to get down, Maybe you should.
