Soulwax (aka 2ManyDJs) continues their series of video-mashing mixes with a decidedly NSFW collection of samples taken from albums with sexy females on the cover. The result is a 54 minute montage of nips, lips and hips that’ll get your engine running for the weekend. It’s even divided into segments like “tits,” “denim shorts” and “sports,” kinda like those websites you’re always clearing from your browser history. For electronic music fans, part of the weekend never dies. This week, L.A. area house heads, electro fiends and all variants of EDM lovers are still recovering from a whirlwind weekend of blips, beats and freaks over a Halloween weekend thick with soul-shaking bass.

As anyone who has tried to go out on Halloween in Los Angeles can tell you, the traffic can be murder. Expect and extra hour in your travel time wherever you are headed. Of course, that won’t stop 20,00 revelers from making it downtown to the Shrine Expo Center for the fourth edition of HARD Haunted Mansion, the annual costumed rave that has become a staple on the global party calendar.

2ManyDJs have unveiled the second mix from their new Radio Soulwax website and iPhone app, following the head-scratching Introversy mix, which mashed-up just the intros from dozens of favorite tunes. The latest mix, Celestial Voyage, takes a more spacey approach, with a boatload of galactic-flavored funk and dance tunes played out to equally intergallactic visuals.
You can check out the 60 minute mix and accompanying video on the Clash Music website. We wouldn’t personally recommend the use of mind-altering substances to enhance enjoyment. So we’ll leave that to one-half of 2ManyDJs, David Dewaele. “Some of my friends who smoke weed – because I don’t do that – they say that watching it in a darkened room, all by yourself, smoking weed is the biggest trip you can ever have.” …MORE

Mash-ups may have gone the way of the dodo, but original innovators Soulwax (aka 2ManyDJs) might have found a way to rekindle interest. The Dewaele brothers are about to launch the Radio Soulwax iPhone App, a free app which will feature 24 hours of highly complicated audio/video DJ mash-ups.
“We applied for an internet radio license, which gives us the freedom to play and stream whatever we want without having to clear any of it, as long as we make it free, which was more important to us than making money on it,” David Dewaele said in an interview with ErolAlkan.com. “The whole thing is basically a labour of love for music and record sleeves. We thought it would take us a good six months, but we got a bit carried away…”
