Upper Playground is known for their sick collabs with some of the biggest names in art, and this time, they’re bringin you street photographer Boogie. His raw, deeply poignant black and white photographs capture the human condition in some of the most turbulant cities in the world. Boogie’s new book, Sao Paulo, documents one of Brazil’s poorest and most troubled cities. In addition to the book is a skate deck featuring the cover image… because you gotta ride in style, right?
Last Saturday, I ventured all the way out to the OC for Orisue’s summer kick off BBQ and gathered some hot photos. The heat was sweltering, but with all the food, music, dancing, skating, and some straight up fun (and also to my surprise, Hok and Dominic from last season’s So You Think You Can Dance!!)… it was all worth it. Everyone rocked their Orisue threads and chilled out in the heat.
Artist Sam Flores has done it all, from original paintings/sculptures to clothing lines, skate/snowboard designs, home decor, and vinyl toys. His next move? A collaboration with Upper Playground, of course. The Upper Playground x Sam Flores wallet was released yesterday… so where can you get one? Check out the UP website or one of their stores, but hurry! Like all UP products, the wallet was produced in limited quantity, so pick yours up quick :)
Supreme has done it again, creating much buzz around an artist collaboration. This summer, Supreme teams up with legendary skate graphics artist, Sean Cliver, releasing a series of two skateboards and two t-shirts. These goodies will feature original, never before seen art work from Cliver. Considering his background and experiences (a lucky break with powerhouse skate company, Powell Peralta, when he was just 19, founding editor of Big Brother Magazine, author to “Disposable: A History of Skateboard Art”… just to name a few accomplishments), and Supreme’s ability to turn any collabo into pure gold, the Sean Cliver and Supreme skateboards/tees are sure to be a hot item. Don’t be caught sleepin’, cuz these items drop in NY/LA on Jun 12th and in Japan on Jun 14th! Wouldn’t wanna miss out, right?!
Hip-hop heads and skaters, look out for Temple Effectives Spring/Summer 08 line! Featuring some sweet tees and classic outerwear, along with some wicked wheels (for your skateboard, of course) from The Artist Series, you’re bound to be the coolest kid on the block.
This season Temple Effectives goes old-school hip-hop with T-shirts featuring the likes of NAS and NWA (Straight Outta Compton, anyone? anyone?!!), but also brings us some freshness with their own graphic tees and outerwear.
