Distal – Boss Of The South Coming VERY SOON (Video)

Who's The Boss? I think we all know who that be. 

Oh Distal, you’re one of favorite rising star producer/DJs. We know you bring it time and time again when you’re in the mix or when you put out some fresh new tunes, like your recent output for Pinch’s Tectonic label. But, when it comes to dancefloor damage, ain’t nothing better than a tune that’s been heard for months on the dance. Finally, after a very long time, “Boss Of The South” gets its own release on Sinden’s excellent Grizzly imprint. Full of proper vibes from dirty-south influences all the way down to some addictive bass-poundage, this is sure to be one of the best releases in Grizzly’s fairly recent history. Brenmar – “So High” (Distal Remix) Exclusive Download (MP3)

At it again in so many ways. 

Oh man. Straight heat here coming from the minds of Brooklyn via Chicago dancefloor king Brenmar and Atlanta bass guru Distal. Brenmar’s been on a roll lately, putting out a stunning release on Discobelle a while back and pounding out remix after remix, and by next week his second EP, Let Me Know (Tasting) will be released worldwide on Sinden’s fantastic Grizzly label (available for pre-order HERE). To commemorate the upcoming release, we have an amazing remix provided by Distal, who’s having a monumental 2011 already with releases on Surefire Sound and Fortified Audio (with more to come soon) and an URB mix coming very soon. URB Presents: Bassanovva (EXCLUSIVE MIX) + Flashing Lights 2-Year Anniversary Debut (MP3)

Finally, after much-deserved buzz from DJs and clubhounds, the duo of Jubilee (Brooklyn’s favorite DJ) and Grahm Zilla (1/2 of  Thunderheist) are finally coming out of the dark as Bassanovva. With an upcoming release on Sinden’s Grizzly imprint, the duo are already stand-alone excellent DJs but together they very well could be the firestarters on the floor. Even more exciting will be their debut, presented by one of URB’s favorite NYC parties, Flashing Lights, who will be celebrating their 2-year anniversary. Along with that they’ve provided an EXCLUSIVE mix for us that’s absolutely amazing, highlighting the up-and-coming talents of today’s bass scene as well as bits of their upcoming release. April 9th and 10th marked the seventh birthday of Institubes, the electronic record label, home to artists Bobmo, Das Glow, Midnight Juggernauts, Para One, Orgasmic, Teki Tek, Surkin, and more. This year the label celebrated by hosting a tremendous music festival at Paris’s club l’Enfer, the massive underground lair that sees many a music event and party (although I imagine is not always easy to fill, at least not like Institubes did this weekend). The label was, however, looking to stay close to their interests and priorities: the music… A festival that was 100% independent, without any major sponsors, without printed flyers lining the streets, smack dab in the middle of Paris. And they did just that. The dual stages in the two connecting rooms of club l’Enfer were non-stop bumping while the various artists mixed, spun, played, and sang …
