‘It’s kinda fresh you listen to more than Hip Hop.’

It’s a well known fact that despite my first of love of Hip Hop that I have a shorty on the side, and her name is House.  This flavor shorty is the kind that hails from the Chi, has a jackin’ swagger, and isn’t afraid to get funky when the time comes.  Having not seen shorty in a while, it was definitely a WTF moment when I was reintroduced to her by today’s featured artist’s newest release.

A throwback of sorts to that Funky Chicago Style House of the late 90′s and early 00′s, the track …

The SFNY folks, rebranded as Society, aim to bring together ‘creative, critical, and community-minded people’ under the banner of a events dubbed experiments, to ‘see what happens.’  From SFNY to the Brooklyn Boheme launch, apparently good things can only happen as a result of this crew’s intrepid voyages.  Their (quite literal) maiden voyage will take place on the evening of September 15, 2012, on the Fume Blanc Commodore Yacht, launching from San Francisco’s Pier 40.  The Maiden Voyage will feature an exceptionally curated event of music, mirth, and mayhem starring such folks as KM/FM, Goldenchyld, Cecil, and The Selecter DJ Kirk.  (Trust us… The URB teams …

@thefrailsf “Frienemies” Video Premier (Video)

Daniel Lannon, along with Israel and Ron, who make up what we know as the Frail, bring URB the premier to their latest video Frienemies, This song/video is the indie pop soundscape San Fran party nostalgia that seeks acceptance as much as it portrays lonliness in the life of the party. If you remember the movie “Go” it can kinda take you there to that party atmosphere where life changes by the time you wake up due to the night before and how you spent it with your best “frienemies.” The ones that hurt you more than help you are the ones we all love to keep around, right?
