Rhonda Does SXSW

Famed LA party A Club Called Rhonda just announced it’s taking a trip to Austin for Southby and bringing the likes of DJ Harvey (first TX appearance), the always insane Seth Troxler, Stones Throw honcho Peanut Butter Wolf, Echo Park debaucherist Goddollars, and the ying to GD’s yang Gregory Alexander on the mic. Festival-going DJ fans can mark this as one of the first times SXSW’s been able to pull the type of talent that usually reserves their revelry for WMC.

It’s all going down Friday, March 16th at the newly-opened Beauty Ballroom, the dance club chain’s largest outpost. Entry’s free with an RSVP right here.

If anyone has a spare ticket to the sold out event, give us a shout. ;) …MORE

Ryan Crosson (Visionquest) Movement-Detroit Diary

Going back to Detroit every year for Movement festival is a special time for me and this year was no exception. In addition to the festival, it’s an opportunity to reunite with family and friends who I haven’t had a chance to see since Christmas. Unfortunately, Memorial Day weekend is always lightning fast and the reunions are always shorter than I wish they could be. …MORE

Seth Troxler (Visionquest) Interview

text: Miss Eleanor

What happenes when four techno-obsessed friends from Detroit—Seth Troxler, Lee Curtiss, Ryan Crosson, and Shaun Reeves—move to Berlin and find fame on the global DJ/producer circuit? They start an “art house” label that has [almost] nothing to do with dance music. URB sat down with Troxler, the number three DJ in the world, at Mexico’s BPM Festival to find out more about this new collaborative project, and the first release—the very techno titled “Where The Freaks Have No Name” by Benoit & Sergio …MORE
