Made Event’s monster festival on roids, Electric Zoo is back with an extra day and a massive lineup. While last year’s event was fantastic, this year’s lineup looks to overtake the previous incarnation by pouring out a ton of proper acts; sure there will be “stars” like Tiësto, David Guetta and Armin van Buuren, but there will also be our favorites on other, smaller stages. No, they’re not on the Billboard charts or playing stadium tours, but we love them and think they’re DAMN GOOD. With that said, here’s our recommendations on who to check out at the festival.
We’ve all been in that situation where we’re trying to figure out who the hell to catch at a music festival. So I did all the dirty work for you, of course. I went down the schedule day-by-day and hour-by-hour and chose the people who in my opinion you can’t miss. Don’t worry about having to write down names and acts just print it out here and if you happen to see me around the festival I’ll be glad to kiss it.

Sixth Street was a bastion for hipsters, journalists, photographers, DJs, bands and music-hungry young adults looking to find the nearest fix and free party wherever it may be; whilst it was at time a cataclysmic circus around the area, the festival did provide once again its showcase of every band, every genre, and every party imaginable. Without going into too much specifics, here’s SXSW 2011 from an URB perspective:

Coming off his recent tour with Holy Fuck and Holy Ghost, SBTRKT prepares for his second State-side release on the Young Turks imprint with his Step In Shadows EP. You can catch the title track after the jump. Unfortunately, it’s only a stream, but I’m sure those of you who want it bad enough can figure out some way to rip it. As a bonus, I’ve also got the guest-mix he did a couple days ago for the BBC’s Radio1Xtra Live.
