Arguably considered today’s best drummer, Chris ‘Daddy’ Dave teamed up with MC and DJ, Stimulus for a collaborative mixtape entitled “3rd 1st Impression” being released as a free download on September 12th, 2011.

Chris ‘Daddy’ Dave has worked with A Tribe Called Quest, SA-RA, Erykah Badu, Mos Def, Robert Glasper, and many others, while producing for folks like Maxwell and Dr. Dre as well.

Shafiq Husayn – DNA (Splice Mix 3) feat. Om’Mas Keith (MP3)

Dublin, Ireland’s All City Records is proud to share the final installment of their LA 10″ x 10 series which featured an impressive list of artists including Exile, Samiyam, Tokimonsta, Take, Matthew David, Dam-Funk, Ras G and others. The 10th edition was their ‘last’ edition featuring Exile and Free The Robots but today, you can enjoy a bonus 10″ from LA #0 this time featuring Shafiq Husayn and Om’Mas Keith of the group, SA-RA. Both artists are major influences and figures in the LA production community and it’s truly a great way to end this well-curated series.

The Danish representatives featuring members Robin Hannibal of Quadron, Ronnie Vindahl, Thomas Bisballe, and David Cytryn; with additional vocal contributions from Coco O of Quadron and Liv Lykke have molded their own sound based of their various influences of D’Angelo, SA-RA, J Dilla, Erykah Badu and 70s and 80s Danish music.

Boom Clap Bachelors – Mellem Dine Læber EP (feat. Robin and Coco of Quadron) Full Stream

Denmark representatives, Boom Clap Bachelors released their latest EP Mellem Dine Læber yesterday via Plug Research. Boom Clap Bachelors is comprised of Robin Hannibal of Quadron, Ronnie Vindahl, Thomas Bisballe, and David Cytryn; with additional vocal contributions from Coco O of Quadron and Liv Lykke. The group was formed due to their common “love of hip hop, soul and funk,” meeting once a week to share everyone’s music, while helping each other with pointers. The casual meetings amongst friends evolved into the loose collective now known as Boom Clap Bachelors, showing their various influences from the likes of D’Angelo, J Dilla, SA-RA, Erykah Badu, as well as 70s and 80s Danish music.
