I'm not gonna front. When I read that Norwegian singer Kate Havnevik's music was featured in “Grey's Anatomy” and “The O.C.,” I was skeptical. Very skeptical. But initial thoughts of Norah Jones-esque mom music or anthems to help you forget your summer crush quickly gave way to a gorgeous, melodic voice with an ear for both beats and orchestration.

Boy, I just can't seem to get enough of deep basslines and female vocals. When we were on tour in California, we received a promo copy of The Understanding from Astralwerks and put it on in the van. Directly after hearing this song, I knew there would be plenty of wonderful remixes to come, and all my suppositions were proven correct.
