“You’re F*cking Out, I’m F*cking In” is the latest album length offering from St. Louis’ own Rockwell Knuckles, and it packs a punch like a Kenny Powers rager.
URB first met Rockwell Knuckles on tour with Cubic Zirconia a year ago en route to SXSW. Since we last spoke, Rocky has clearly been hard at work putting together a beautifully polished body of inspirations of the urban Missouri landscape. Backed by super fresh production from Trifeckta, Brainstorm, Killa Kev, B-Money, Roch, Tony Locar and Adult Fur, Rocky takes most of the marquee spots, with support from Theresa Payne and TefPoe. The tape travels through a more eclectic landscape of Rocky’s creative, with more pop and electronic influence than we’ve heard from him in the past.
St. Louis was quick, too quick for a visit Nick Hook’s hometown.
Coming off a long night in Chicago, I slept the whole way until we were under the famous arch. We pulled in to a quaint strip of St Louis to indulge in some of the country’s finest Pho at Pho Grand, which was a high priority item for this tour. The pho was so real.
What better way to get to SXSW then a road trip with some friends? Well, we’ll be doing just that! This Friday, URB hits the road with the New York City dance band Cubic Zirconia as they take on the midwest. Come along for the ride.
