Conceptualist sampler Matthew Herbert, Detroit techno legend Robert Hood and IDM soul singer Jamie Lidell have all been announced as headliners for the 2013 Mutek festival, taking place May 29 – June 2 in Montreal.
Herbert alone will be undertaking three different performances, including his controversial One Pig show (all samples recorded from the life of a pig, from birth to slaughter), an equally experimental unnamed project built around a 10-second sample of the war in Libya and a DJ set in his more dance floor-friendly Wishmountain guise.
Other acts announced today include Cologne techno entrepreneur Michael Mayer (who is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his Kompakt empire), Berlin hit makers Âme and Montreal star Ghislain Poirier wil be presenting his new Boundary project.
