Actress, alias of producer Darren Cunningham, will be releasing his third full-length this April the 20th through the Honest Jon’s imprint. The album, called R.I.P., is a follow-up to 2010’s outstanding Splazsh. He’s said to be taking a more ground-up approach to his production, and says “I can’t explain how I made those tracks, it’s just impossible. It’s like painting with button and sliders… Melting and dripping, seeping yourself liquid into the machinery.” For insight into Actress’s creative process, you can check out an interview that he did with Adult Swim, in which they fly out to London and film inside his personal studio. The album and song titles are supposedly inspired by Milton’s Paradise Lost and Jamie James’s Music of the Spheres which Cunningham read while he was working on the album.
