A spinal disc herniation has forced Ricardo Villalobos to cancel the next four weeks of tour dates to avoid exacerbating the condition of his back. An official statement explains that while a four-week break may seem like a long time, it will prevent the possibility of life-long damage. The cancellations include scheduled appearances at Time Warp in Mannheim, Fuse in Belgium, and Jaeger in Norway. To see if the cancellations affect you, check a full list of tour dates here.
Enigmatic Chilean-German DJ/producer Ricardo Villalobos has been added to the Movement Detroit line-up. The “secret artist” was announced via the Movement website. Villalobos will perform at 7pm this Sunday, May 28 on Movement’s main stage. He will also appear Sunday night on the Voyage Royale: I’m on a Boat 3 afterparty featuring Sven Väth, Loco Dice vs. Stacey Pullen and Matthew Hawtin on Sunday night following his Movement set. Tickets for both events are available at www.movement.us.
Techno mega-outlet Resident Advisor have released their annual Best DJs Poll, with enigmatic icon Ricardo Villalobos topping the list, while two Detroit ex-pats, Richie Hawtin and Seth Troxler, round out the top three in this Euro-centric look at the world’s best jocks.

Sources have confirmed that Ricardo Villalobos will be coming to the States for the first time since 2002 he visited Canada in 2008 for the Detroit Electronic Music Festival. Details are still forthcoming.
