Stone Roses, Blur, Phoenix, Red Hot Chili Peppers Headline Coachella 2013

The line-up is out for the 14th Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and there’s a lot of reasons for music fans to be excited, especially those obsessed with early-’90s UK music. Friday night will feature co-headliners Blur and The Stone Roses, two seminal UK acts that have reformed in recent years, much to brit-pop lover’s delight.

Saturday proves it still possible for newer bands to hit massive success, with French indie-poppers Phoenix handling headlining duties, followed by UK phenoms The xx. Sunday offers veteran fare with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, two acts who have been making music since before the average Coachella camper was born.

Other highlights include Resident Advisor’s #1 DJ of 2012, Seth Troxler, the recently reformed LA hip-hop legends Jurassic …

?uestlove, Black Star, Skrillex, D’Angelo, Radiohead: Bonnaroo 2012 Review

Bonnaroo 2012 did not follow the DJ craze like most fest this year are doing, having only one stage dedicated to dubstep, house, trance, etc… But they did book a few stellar acts to keep the Bonnaroovians (yes, the word exist) satisfied. Hypnotic Brass Ensemble “Bulletproof Brass” EP Preview

Hypnotic Brass Ensemble proudly present their new release titled “Bulletproof Brass,” a 6 song mini album showcasing this family band’s unrivaled musicianship and universal appeal.

Bandleader Hudah explains:
“The EP ‘Bulletproof Brass’ is part of the next mission for HBE. The stage in our quest for completely …

Thom Yorke’s ?????? Explained (Video)

Lots of folks are wondering about the six question marks next to Thom Yorke’s name on the Coachella poster. URB just got a text from Coachella head Paul T explaining that the ?????? at the end of Thom Yorke’s name is the official billing for his band, and was previously used for the shows he performed last fall at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles. That band consisted of Flea, Nigel Godrich, Beck drummer Joey Waronker and David Byrne collaborator Joey Waronker. Coachella cannot confirm if the same players will make up Yorke’s Coachella band.

Rza And His Philosophy On Making Music (Video)

In this flick Rza talks about making music for himself and his fans as suggested by his buddy: Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante. It’s good to see veterans like Bobby Digital make new music because they love it. I mean it’s safe to assume  most people in the biz aren’t raking in the dough like they used to. So at this point you might as well put out a quality product you believe in rather than drop a formulaic single and swing for the Billboard charts. If only more artists were like him…
