And what did the mag title it’s two cover features? “The Passion of Chris: Chris Brown is the Future. But First He Must Deal With His Past” and “Everybody Loves Drake”
Legendary emcee Guru (aka GangStarr, Jazzmatazz) and producer Solar ended 2009 with their fourth album, Guru 8.0 Lost & Found. I just took a listen at the lyrical finesse of this veteran emcee and appreciate the authentic hip hop sound–it’s a little gritty with a story to tell. New year, new ears.
“Those Dayz R Gone”
“Best of My Years”
“Read Between Tha Linez”
Now this is how you make a tightly budgeted video. “Supermagic” was a return to form for Mighty Mos but the video left much to be desired. History’s video treatment tells a subtle story of Mos’s rise to fame from his BK neighborhood. Kweli tags along for the ride and his appearance will likely make heads yearn for a new Black Star album. All in all it’s got some nice direction and the images fit the song’s climate pretty well. Did I mention the song is great too? The video’s a good way to spend 2 minutes and change so give it a click.
