DJ Cutler – Newer Sounds For Older Souls v2 (MP3)

Music from your favorite DJ you’ve never heard of. This guy is a friend of mine from a little ol’ city called Buffalo, NY. He sent over this gem and it definitely merited some exposure on URB. Just for some credibility, back in 2006, DJ Cutler won Scion’s national Free Up Your Mix contest for the best remix.

Here’s what he had to say about the current mix:

“Here’s a new mix of tunes from the past couple of years that I’m really digging… As per usual all vinyl (save for track one which isn’t yet on wax). Support these artists and buy their records now before they’re out of print! Feel free to share far and wide and many thanks for listening.

Both video and audio for this mini documentary were captured at a direct to disc recording session in The Carvery Studios in Hackney, London in August 2011 during the London Riots.

I’ll Keep My Light In My Window” is one of Russell’s all-time favorite songs which has scarcely sounded better than in this current incarnation, on which she exercises her famed powers as a classic soul vocalist.
