“Invisible Forces” – and its seizure inducing video – is part of the reason why.

One of the more starling aspects of the J-Rock stuffs that have found life anew is the breadth and diversity…Les Rallizes Denudes might sound like a fuzzy mess – and it is – but it’s was also rather revelatory back in the day…
This is Dead Meadow working out a pop song that masquerades as psych stuffs. Surely, that wah-wah solo is worth a listen, but the rest of “That Old Temple” isn’t really all that engaging.
The accompanying documentary/concert film might be though. Take a gander…

Some grubby looking hands being the video for “Dead” by the New Yawk City psych combo White Hills. And while the remainder of the imagery that accompanies the track looks to be some confluence of David Bowie and early ‘90s Alice in Chains, the song delivers some knotty psych experience. There aren’t any over blown solos, but enough distortion as to endear the song to all but the most disdainful stoner.
And thanks to Thrill Jockey ya’ll can cop an MP3 version of the diddy as well…
