Supported by My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James, whose recent performance on Jimmy Fallon in support of the new “Regions of Light and Sound of God” LP was worthy of a full concert-length collaboration. NYC’s own Rabbi Darkside performed recently in Brooklyn to over 250 people in celebration of his successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over $12,500.00. Today, check out the video re-cap which showcases Rabbi Darkside’s performance which also featured guests including an 8-piece live band, Caits Meissner, Duv, Brother Hamm and others.
Rabbi Darkside will also perform again in NYC at Le Poisson Rouge Gallery on June 20th in celebration of his worldwide release date. Tickets are on sale now here.
This past Sunday, New York City celebrated the official launch of okayafrica.com, a brand new division from the team behind okayplayer. An estimated 20,000 fans came to celebrate their launch with a free concert featuring The Roots, Talib Kweli, Bajah and The Dry Eye Crew, Blitz the Ambassador and the Embassy Ensemble, J Period, DJ Op!, Dhundee and many many more acts who shared the stage at Prospect Park’s annual music and arts festival, Celebrate Brooklyn.
