UNIQLO Designers Invitation Project Launch Celebration. Limited RSVP link inside!

House Shoes – California Dreamin’ Episode 1 and 2 Interview (Video)

A couple weeks back we shared the first episode of Abraham Beltran’s (Soundways Radio) in depth interview with House Shoes entitled “Welcome to Detroit” which discussed Shoes’ early days in Detroit, his exposure to hip hop culture, etc. If you missed it the first time around you can check it out here.

Today, check out Episode 2 and 3 entitled “California Dreamin’” Part 1 and 2 which discusses his first trip to LA, the passing of Proof and Dilla, and his eventual move to Los Angeles. After seeing the Eagles at the Hollywood Bowl recently, and Redman & Method Man headline “Spring Gathering” Saturday, “Newports” was a welcome change of pace from the week before. No introduction is necessary for House Shoes, with the Suite for Ma Dukes DVD now available in stores and online, the Do-Over collab vinyl, King James EP and Proof Memorial Concert at highlands has been keeping a break neck pace and still killing it with that signature Motor City vibe. From the plethora of J Dilla exclusive material I’ve heard him spin or the shelved MCA Dilla LP tracks, his production chops are nothing new.
