Prefuse 73 Album Updates

Guillermo Scott Herren, better known as Prefuse 73, will finally be releasing a new album after nearly two years of a break. Titled Everything She Touched Turned Ampexian, the album will drop Apr 14th on Warp Records. There is a single you can listen to here, thanks to Pitchfork. This is just the first of three albums Herren has planned; another dropping in Spring under Diamond Watch Wrists, a group with Zach Hill of Hella, and another Savath y Savalas record coming at us under indie-hop powerhouse Stones Throw. I think we’re all thirsty for new electric goodies from Prefuse, and this Spring he seems to be looking forward to satisfying our musical taste buds.

I could have made the second disc another hour of beats but I had to challenge myself beyond anything I had done before.

Do you detest genre names (like most artists)? What do you think of the phrase ‘glitch hop’ …

Guillermo Scott Herren is a busy, busy man

Guillermo Scott Herren, better known as Prefuse 73, Savath & Savalas, Delarosa & Asora, Piano Overlord, etc., is currently hard at work on not one, not two not three, but four new albums. Not everything is clear about what he's doing, but in a recent flurry of MySpace Blogs he unleashed some details about two of the projects and hints about the others.

The new disc from Savath & Savalas is up for an Apr release on Anti and it's gonna feature guest spots from Jose Gonzalez, Claudia Deheza, Tyondai Braxton and percussion from Laurence Pike from Troisk. Herren said the hour of music was culled from 40 tracks to find the sound he wanted.

“I felt like showing every side and stage of where a savath + savalas song could go………… from hotel rooms to nice …
