A hip-hop show centered around self-deprecation and bi-curious moments is, in itself, a curious moment. Pigeon John used to get booed when he first started performing at the always democratic, always critical events hosted at the venerable Good Life and I don’t say this to disparage his reputation—that’d be stealing from PJ’s own shtick—but because the dude persevered. He got back onto the stage and eventually won a few people over.
