13th Witness recently caught up with Futura at Futura Laboratories for a short film session. What you get is a wicked short that focuses on cinematography as much as it does Futura. Take a look and you’ll see just exactly how skilled each is in their own artistic fields. 13th uses the focal plane as deftly as Futura uses a can or marker. Its insane, hands down rock solid beautiful art. You get a good look at Futura’s style and just how well this man can write, draw, or sketch with any instrument of graf.

Last Friday, Los Angeles-based photographer Estevan Oriol celebrated the launch of his first book. LA Woman captures his signature raw shooting style, which he began to cultivate in 1992 when he went on the road as the manager of House of Pain. With a hand-me-down camera, Oriol established himself as a go-to photographer for the hip-hop and Latino communities. He boasts working with Hollywood A-list actors like Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Forest Whittaker, along with Eminem and other musicians. Photographing punk and garage bands isn’t a good way to make a dollar. Bob Kondrak, though, simply did it for the love of music. There’ve been various tributes to him posted all over the place and each is more eloquent than whatever this post has wound up being.
Beyond the obvious, what’s so horrible is that if one endeavors to find out what happened via Google News, there’s nothing to be found. So much for the interwebs.
