Maybe as a reward for the public’s patience, maybe as a reward to all the journalists who managed not to leak it, or maybe because Scuba (aka Paul Rose) just got too tired to keep it under lock & key anymore – whatever the reason, we were very happy to find that Hotflush posted an unabridged and unwatermarked stream for us to enjoy of Scuba’s third full-length album, Personality. You can stream the album above, and pre-order the album here before its release on March the 6th to receive a free poster as well as CD and digital copies of the album.
SCUBA – THE HOPE (official video) from Hotflush Recordings on Vimeo.
Ahead of the release of Scuba’s album Personality (due March 6th on Hotflush), we get to see the official video for the first single called The Hope. If you think you’re going to escape this one getting stuck in your head then think again, like it or not – it’s Scuba’s specialty to make tracks that won’t leave you alone, both on and off the dancefloor. As for the video? There’s dancing, there’s an elephant, there’s sea anemone… we’ll let you be the judge.
Although Scuba’s third album Personality is under lock & key until its release on March 6th, the first single The Hope is already in heavy rotation. The B-side to The Hope is a non-album cut called Flash Addict that’s equally as capable of filling the floor. Quite frankly, it’s really good, so we were surprised to find out that although the single is due to drop on February 6th, we’re allowed to share a 320kbps download of Flash Addict with you for free today.
If you’re in NYC, be sure to catch Scuba when he does a special edition of his SUB:STANCE club night on March 10th with Boddika.

Veteran producer Scuba (aka Paul Rose) last released a full-length album over a year ago, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been busy. During the time since 2010’s Triangulation he has played a part in delivering some of the best releases of the past year through his Hotflush label from the likes of Sepalcure, Mount Kimbie, Roska, and Joy O. He also put out the euphoric Adrenalin on a three-track EP by the same name, has been touring extensively, and dealt with quite the controversy within the industry following the scrutiny of some of his tweets over at The Quietus.
Personality, Rose’s third album, will be released through Hotflush on March 6th. The first single, called The Hope, will come out on February 6th along with non-album cut Flash Addict. The Hope is much darker than Adrenalin, just as dancefloor-friendly, and proves that Scuba’s still got the catchy/borderline-cheesy anthem game on lock. You can listen to quite a decent radio rip of The Hope below, and see the full tracklisting after the cut.
