Stones Throw capo Peanut Butter Wolf just found out that he's landed a gig that's been a goal of his since he was 15 years old. And dude is kinda old, so you know that it's been a goal for a long time. But he's so excited, that we'll just let him tell you about it:
Anyone who knows me from my high school days knows I was a Beastie Boys fanatic. This was before their first album came out (I know, I'm old). I had bought “Cookie Puss” when it came out and loved both sides. I bought “Rock Hard” (a 12″ single pre-”Licensed To Ill” era) and MCA's solo song called “Drum Machine”. I even bought “She's On It”, although I didn't like it as much as the earlier singles. I went to the Run-DMC …
CEO of Stones Throw Records (Madlib, MF Doom & J Rocc) and DJ, Peanut Butter Wolf, is playing god. Okay, Maybe not god, but he has a seven-day theory of his own. When a recent location move reminded PB&W of his vinyl stash, a little light bulb illuminated his dome. On Jun 10 he will tour his LA hometown for seven nights, playing a different style of music each night. From ‘60s deep funk to ‘80s hip hop to ‘70s dub the Skippy werewolf will spin records once each in seven different nightspots across the city of angels. Starting Sunday at The Do-Over at Crane’s Tavern and completing the club crawl at Funky Sole at Star Shoes on Saturday Jun 16. Peanut Butter will be there, so get out and JAM! Yeah…
For the latest edition of the Stones Throw Podcast, Peanut Butter Wolf drops nothing but covers… or at least creative remakes at some classics. There's a Japanese take on a the Jackson 5, Spanish Rod Stewart and plenty of amusing tracks in English too. PBW dug deep for some of these gems.

We had big plans to stream empeefrees that would simultaneously blow your mind and your heart, on this here Valentines Day, but damned if we're going to try and compete with Peanut Butter Wolf. The Stones Throw vet released his collection of songs to get down and dirty to, and it's a leftfield collection of down and dirty cuts. The Internuts at Stones Throw want you to email this mixtape to the girl you forgot to send flowers to, but you might be better off just burning a copy and pretending like you're the wally chump champ all-star of Hallmark's made up holiday. Here's the tracklisting, and below it, our attempt to get you some loving….or at least off the couch.
