Preview Scuba’s ‘Personality’ forthcoming on Hotflush Recordings

Full-length from Hotflush boss due out March 6th

Veteran producer Scuba (aka Paul Rose) last released a full-length album over a year ago, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been busy. During the time since 2010’s Triangulation he has played a part in delivering some of the best releases of the past year through his Hotflush label from the likes of Sepalcure, Mount Kimbie, Roska, and Joy O. He also put out the euphoric Adrenalin on a three-track EP by the same name, has been touring extensively, and dealt with quite the controversy within the industry following the scrutiny of some of his tweets over at The Quietus.

Personality, Rose’s third album, will be released through Hotflush on March 6th. The first single, called The Hope, will come out on February 6th along with non-album cut Flash Addict. The Hope is much darker than Adrenalin, just as dancefloor-friendly, and proves that Scuba’s still got the catchy/borderline-cheesy anthem game on lock. You can listen to quite a decent radio rip of The Hope below, and see the full tracklisting after the cut.

SUB:STANCE

Released by Ostgut Ton

This is the first mix CD from dubstep pioneer Scuba, aka Hotflush label curator Paul Rose. The mix is based on the successful SUB:STANCE parties at Berlin’s club Berhain. Originally from London, he’s been pushing dubstep in Berlin, and with this mix he showcases the vitality of UK bass music. 24 tracks cover the full spectrum of the burgeoning dupstep scene. From moody ambient, to jungle breaks, 2-step and rave.
