Richie Hawtin is a musician who has never been afraid of a conceptual challenge. So it makes sense that the Berlin-based Windsor native would find himself at the Paris Grand Palais for a special DJ performance in the shadow of Anish Kapoor’s gigantic Leviathan scuplture this past June. London-based, Paris-born and Brazil-raised Pierre LX is ready with his debut album Out 1. He learned how to make music on a cheap keyboard, and he was DJ’ing on a laptop already in 2002. He’s now done a reverse evolvement and only plays vinyl. He does regular sets at Fabric, and you can hear heavy hints of UK Bass in his productions.
Out 1 consists of eight pieces that were improvised on machines in his home studio, and each track was recorded as a continuous live take, using hardware only. ...
In many ways le Maison de Kitsuné is one of those cultural forces that has struck America in whispers but with their upcoming 10th compilation, upcoming plans to take over the US and an ever expanding base of fans the past and future of Kitsuné just seems to lay in cautious and relaxed business plans.
